Technological development with the Internet, mobile communications, satellites, broadband, microwaves and other technologies has produced serious changes in the world of social relations.

Quick information is now the driver of social, economic and cultural changes. The telecommunications boom has led to a major change in information and communication technologies affecting all sectors of the economy and society.

Computer networks have enabled the globalization of exchange by connecting large groups of people residing in very distant geographical spaces. National spaces no longer exist, so people’s lives are now conditioned by what happens in a place thousands of kilometers away.

What happens in a faraway country may have an impact on the economic activity of other countries. McLuhan’s idea of the global village has become a reality and a new social model of the ‘globalized society ’ has emerged.
