Military Crisis in the Pacific
Written by Alfonso Elizondo
The center of the global crisis is now in the North Pacific Ocean where we find the five great powers of the 21st century: the United States, China, Russia, Japan and Korea. This tension has increased since North Korea launched several nuclear missiles. It seems that the Singapore Summit between Trump and Kim-Jong held last June did not help and North Korea continues to build nuclear weapons.
The trade war between China and the US is still a threat to the whole world. It is supported by the Russians who have been punished by trade restrictions imposed by the US for their involvement in the dispute with spies in Britain.
The US is now criticizing China’s support for North Korea not carrying out denuclearization. At the same time, South Korea and Japan are criticizing US policies in the Pacific countries for neglecting their security interests.
On the other hand, the most important current news has come from Moscow, with Russia’s Defense Minister, Serguei Shoigú, announcing with great fanfare that they have decided to conduct the biggest military maneuvers since the fall of the Berlin Wall. These maneuvers will be in the Pacific area, with the participation of units from the Chinese and Mongolian Armies between September 11 and 15.
There will be many artificial satellites and radars from both the United States and Japan controlling the scope and success of these maneuvers. There will be more than 1000 aircraft and helicopters, 300,000 soldiers and more than 36,000 military vehicles, in addition to two Russian fleets. China’s participation is not very significant but it is evidence that Russia and China maintain collaborative ties in the areas of security and defense, in addition to defending North Korea.
The government of Japan and the US are very concerned about these large maneuvers, since Moscow has been at odds with the republics bordering its territory, such as the Baltic States, Ukraine and Georgia. Although these maneuvers are not a war, they are aimed at demonstrating their military might to the other world powers. However, in Russia itself Putin’s opponents have criticized him for spending so many millions to show off the country’s military power and for neglecting the basic needs of its population.
Everything suggests that the Pacific Ocean will be the scene of the Third World War. This scene will not be Europe, or the Greater Middle East or the Atlantic Ocean.
Addendum: The New Geopolitics indicates that the Great Final Conflict of the current world will take place in the Pacific Ocean, where the world’s 5 major powers fighting to control world hegemony are side by side.
